This is my 207th smoking pipe.
In this article I will tell you about main pipe shapes. About straight and bent pipes, classical pipes and freehands, about advantages, disadvantages and features of different shapes.

Billiard is the most classical pipe shape. Billiard's stem and mouthpiece look like a billiard cue. The bowl is almost cylindrical with almost 90° angle.
Classic pipe shapes are shapes, designed for making with a lathe, instead of freehands.
Smooth pipes — pipes with smooth finish — sanded and polished pipes.
Ebonite (vulcanite) stem is more soft and comfortable for teeth, than acrylic. So I prefer to use ebonite in pipes, which are short and light enough for smoking in teeth.
